Free Outdoor NJ Symphony Orchestra Concerts including Flood's Hill
This is great! We also love the Branch Brook Park concert which includes a nice fireworks show after the concert.
I have to remember to bump this later in June and book a sitter perhaps. 7:30 is a trifle later for our budding music enthusiast.

I can't say that as I know. I have a feeling if you are discreet about it and not planning to take your shirt off and start singing the "Ghostbusters" theme on top of your chair you won't get hassled.

It looks like a fun lineup of Wednesday night concerts for the month of July. I think we may try to go see Max Headroom on the 27th.
This was a lovely evening!! Perfect weather and the music was beautiful as expected.
I do wish they had swapped the order of the program so the "Hollywood Hits" were first, since they seemed to be gearing that towards the kids & families in the audience. We had to get the kids home to bed just as the second half was getting started, and my son was disappointed to miss Star Wars.
I love that they opened with a piece from The Nutcracker. NJSO now accompanies the NJ Ballet production at Mayo Performing Arts Center so it was fun to get a little Christmas in June!
I look forward to the South Orange summer concerts all year. I really feel like it's the best of our community on display! Awesome vibe with friends and neighbors relaxing together.
What a perfect night! Our family & friends thoroughly enjoyed last evening. Much thanks to NJSO, Jespy House for sponsoring, & South Orange Summer Nights for hosting (from us MW folk). Floods Hill is such a magical place for concerts - even my two tweens and their friends loved the whole program. We all appreciated the music arrangements, great sight lines, food truck set up... plus all that open space for running around.
One VERY minor suggestion is that they may need one or two traffic cops for a 1/2 hour post-event up on Ridgewood Road (with all the families crossing in the dark). But absolutely no complaints - these kind of events really add to our collective quality of life in our community.

The NJSO will be playing a series of free outdoor concerts this month. One of them right in our own back yard!

July 2 - Mercer County Park
The concert is at 7:30 and they're playing a bunch of movie music!
