Welcome to the new forum!

 Thank you! smile

Um, are there emoticons that I'm not seeing somewhere?? Although I love the formatting bar...

Emoticons will be added at a later date.

Great. Thank you! So far, it seems it's just a matter of getting used to how to make things work on this version. I think I like it...

Nice clean layout. Fast response time, I like it so far.

@jamie - Will the "Participated Discussions" and "My Discussions" views be supported?

And, based on what I just posted, is the '@' feature active or will it be?

If you click on My Account - then Forum discussions - you can see your discussions and joined discussions(I think there's a little bug with this one at the moment).

Another helpful thing that was fixed is the username link within quoted text - links to their profile page.  Profile page only shows user discussions at the moment, but features on this page will grow in time.

That worked ... sort of ... but it took a lot of clicks.  And, once I got there, I couldn't figure out how to get back.  I hope that these views might eventually make it back to the main page.

But, I can be patient.

Overall, it seems good and looking forward to evolution over time.

@jamie I recommend you make the 'recently updated' default on top instead of 'recently created' -- I bet quite a few people have not changed it and don't realize they are not seeing updates in threads on top of their default view ...

I'm liking it!

Love the clean look!

I'm in  it looks very modern  whoa  pressing space bar twice doesn't make a period in my iPad  what's with that?

@jamie - I just tried to make a post here: http://maplewood.worldwebs.com/forums/discussion/id/115496-Need-stucco-repair-person#comment-2974432  and nothing shows up after I submit the post.  (But if I edit it, I see my text there.)  Any idea what's going on?

I'm having a very hard time getting to the most recently updated threads view.

wow - that's really odd!  We'll look into this.

Related to the above, I'm finding that if my post requires a new page, then all I see is the last post on the original page. I have to actual go to the next page to see my post.

Thank you for the indexed T o C! So wonderful to see what's been updated, when, by whom!

Why can I not get the regular site on my phone? I hate mobile sites. I have the mobile browser set to "desktop" and it works for most sites (including the old MOL) but the new one seems to override that.

I have a couple of questions: Is there going to be a "participated discussions" button, and a way to bookmark our most frequently visited threads? And I noticed this morning that I can't find a search feature anywhere. If it's somewhere clever, I'm not seeing it.

Search is at the top of the page in the middle on my screen.

jamie or dave, when things settle down a bit, could you post guidelines for picture sizes on the new site? I've been resizing down and guessing, but it would be easier if I knew the minimum/maximum sizes that will be supported. Not a rush, I know you have lots more critical things to tweak right now.

Peggy, on the desktop version, the search is in the top bar near where your account name is.

THANK YOU! Don't know why I didn't see it earlier, but that's great.

Has anyone found a bookmark function yet? I thought I saw that yesterday when I was fiddling around (and getting totally lost, I admit) but can't get back to whatever it was I thought I saw.

Within the thread, there's a star at the top level with the thread title on the right. Clicking that should bookmark a thread. I believe that's similar to how it worked on the old site.

OK, I have a question.  After scrolling down thru all the posts on a page, how do you get back 'Home' or 'All Discussions', without having to scroll all the way back to the top of the page?

For now, depending on your OS etc, there's usually a shortcut key or combination to get back to the top without actually scrolling. Fn+Home, etc.

@jamie, here's a possible bug/discrepancy. As before there are the Maplewood, South Orange, Millburn, etc, "versions," but presently most discussion categories are only visible (to me) from "Maplewood," even though on my account home it lists membership in all the town versions. Via all the others there's just gardening and politics and a couple more. Not that this matters much in practice. I just used to log in via South Orange for pride's sake, but was never sure why that was an option.

Anyway, good luck and thanks for all y'all do.

Same thing happened to me when I logged into South Orange.

Search results should return in newest to oldest or be settable. I can not figure out what order they come in but it is not very useful.

Also, your selection for number on a page (10, 20, 50) should be sticky. It always reverts to 20.
