Yes, The Cook, etc is a favorite of mine, though it's very hard to watch at times. It too can be revolting. And I'm not even talking about the ending.

That kitchen though! What a surreal place.

I recently saw an Italian film called "Mid-August Lunch" which was quite funny and sweet and was centered on a residential kitchen in a scenic Italian town.

I'm so jealous of that knife technique.

There are movies that are not primarily about food in which food related scenes are prominent.

One of the most famous lines in movies is that of a woman in a restaurant ordering.

"I'll have what she's having".

Jack Nicholson in Five Easy Pieces. "Chicken salad sandwich, hold the chicken".

There is a scene in "A Woman Under the Influence" which made me very hungry.

And spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't seen "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and intends to do so at some point

Richard Dreyfus and the mashed potatoes.

And who's hungry for lobster?

How about the Godfather (not a food movie of course), with a great food scene when Clemenza shows Michael how to make sauce:
