Drinks near Penn Station?

I'm surprised no one's mentioned The Pennsy. It's the new high-end food hall and bar on 33rd and 7th, practically inside of Penn Station. It's a great space to kill an hour or two. http://www.thepennsy.nyc/

I am glad that the Pennsy space was developed, but it doesn't seem welcoming or relaxing to me. Not a bad place, and a good place to meet up before a concert at the Garden if it's open late enough, but like a lot of the new upscale food halls, it seems installed rather than organic. (I confess that I am a regular at the new Ippuddo stall at City Kitchen at 45th and Eighth.)

We went to Juniper Bar and loved it. Of course, that might be the $6 Rosemary-infused gin and tonics talking. Ask to sit in the back -- front is noisy. Gorgeous space. Awesome pick, @ridski!

Tried it tonight.  Lively and packed on a Tuesday! (I would pick the watery pinot grigio instead of @ridski's suggestions for happy hour, which is not posted.)

Hope you had fun! I would definitely return. Found another good place as well, Wine Disciples: http://www.winedisciplesenoteca.com

The area is hopping!

Hah! That's the place with the 3oz/6oz pricing. Enthusiastic bartender but I wince at the $25 glass of wine unless I'm having nice dinner and sharing the rest of the bottle.

It was a David Gilmour night, so maybe I'll go back another time.

I went during happy hour...$7 everything!
