Dogs on baseball fields at memorial park

if I had a ticket book I could hand out 10 tickets every weekend, just for left turns into parking spaces

Dogs in park: Bad

Dogs in playground: Worse

Dogs on playground (as in, up the stairs and running around on the ramps and bridges and stuff): I just don't know.

or parking enforcement or left-turn-into-parking-space, or one-way street enforcement in the village.

I hate to be one of those guys complaining about the change in attitudes over the years in Maplewood, but unfortunately it does seem like the sense of entitlement is worse than it was 15-20 years ago. I've stopped being surprised at the number of people who park in crosswalks, drive the wrong way into the Ricalton Square parking lot, turn left into parking spots. One day I pointed out to a guy that he was driving the wrong way at Ricalton, and I thought he was going to try to fight me. So no surprise we have entitled dog owners too.

there really needs to be enforcement of these laws. Why not put an auxiliary police officer on parking/traffic/dog regulation enforcement?

This has been my experience as well. I have in reasonable terms addressed bad behavior- dog poop in playgrounds, driving 50 mph through residential streets, only to have people go COMPLETELY off the deep end each and every time.

Lesson learned. Better to just let them do it. Judging by their behavior and reaction to any discussion about it I doubt they have much to lose if the discussion escalated. They're dead enders and their behavior is not limited to what they do in public.

Only 10?

We are spirit animals! I always say, "If I could be a cop for 10 friggin minutes, I'd...(fill in the blank)

Collectively we have become more rude and entitled. There have been many, but the one that sticks out the most is when during a snowfall, a Marshall parent parked her vehicle at the mouth of my neighbors driveway, blocking him in for about a 1/2 hour or more. She came out, totally oblivious, gave a weak *** "sorry" and went about her day.

I meant 10 tickets for illegal left turns. If I counted illegal parking, it would probably be 50

The people driving the wrong way into a parking lot are the worst. Most of us, whether when we're pedestrians in a parking lot, or backing our vehicle out, don't look for cars coming from the wrong direction. Driving the wrong way is a good way to collide with a vehicle exiting a space, or to hit a pedestrian. And it's not like I've only seen it done once. I've seen it relatively often at Ricalton Square, especially during the morning rush.

---still looks like you're spending too much time at Dunks. 50 is still slacking off.

hey man, I've got a life, you know?

If you got hit pulling out or crossing the lot by these misanthropes you can be assured of one thing- they'll furiously blame you for causing an accident.

Great advice I got from a homeless guy once- and I imagine it was part of his shtick- "why are people always looking at lights and signs? Nobody ever gets run over by a light or sign."

Dog poopers, wrong way drivers, parking thugs... 3% of the population causing 50% of the frustration, united in their belief that they are the only people who matter, it's different because it's them, and everyone is outrageously attacking them.
