Finally got around to trying the falafel at Chutzpah - really good!  I will be back.

Chutzpah’s Sabich is excellent!

Also - a few of the radar of Springfield dining and Maplewood Village directories are:

Cedar Ridge Bakery

410 Ridgewood Road
973-327-2286

True Salvage Cafe

https://www.truesalvagecafenj.com/
292 Elmwood Avenue
973-327-9939

Has anyone tried the new Valley Street Eatery?

Cedar ridge hasn’t been there for over a year. It’s now Yellow Rose Vegan.

I'm getting a breakfast sandwich there right now. I got my first one yesterday.  Taylor ham and egg on a roll with a rosti potato (like a thin crispy potato  pancake). I like it a lot!

Reasonable pricing. A rarity around here!

No website, you can call though. Hopefully they get online soon.

It's owned by the same folks who own Sabatino's.

Sadly, we left Pickett’s last evening. No servers wore masks and our request that we have a masked server was refused.
we went to Fox and Falcon instead. Everyone was masked and everything was delicious.

I’m surprised they didn’t mask up upon request. Were you polite when you asked?

 Able Baker

Has Luna Stella reopened?

 It's under T - The Able Baker

Noy sure about Luna - thought I heard it was open - but obviously - they need to take down the note from their homepage:

Due to the labor shortage that has so severely affected the restaurant industry and many others, we are choosing to *temporarily* close our doors to re-staff. We’ve been pushing along and making it work with what we have, but have come to the conclusion that in order to serve the community in the way we want and provide the level of quality and service that we see fit, we need to take the time to re-staff.
We’re thankful for your support and patience and look forward to having you all in soon!

According to their website, Luna Stella is reopening on 12/22, which is great because I have a gift card for $15.78 and it's burning a hole in my wallet.

We order takeout, Once a week. The last three orders were fkcu-ups. Twice from the same established place and one from a new place in town. Errors included stuff that was missing. Today's error included a shrimp cold salad instead of a hot meal.

Thing is, today I clearly heard the desk person yell into the kitchen to bring out the order with correct components. I get home and look at shrimp.

Anyone else experiencing screwed up orders?

Haven't yet been to Picketts and don't think I will ever get there in light of the above info.  I don't generally make "political" dining decisions but this is more than political.

I'm also surprised that they didn't agree with our request.  Pickett's done a great job in general during the pandemic and became one of our favorite spots.  However, we have only dined outside.

Is Sabatino's moving over to the eatery as well?  Looks like they're temporarily closed at the moment.

(Sorry, the define/quote function still doesn’t work on my updated iPad iOS.)

Meanwhile, Sabatino’s is temporarily closed for renovations. Sab’s is “taking a little breather and going to come back for the New Year,” said Thornberry.

Not sure from where you are ordering.

Wild Ginger always seems to get my order right.

As to the place on Valley I got something there and it was OK, but it's not exactly "Fine Dinning" . It;s not even the Mapleleaf or the Parkwood. And I was the only one at lunchtime who wasn't a Columbia HS student.

I didn’t want to name the restaurants. Just wondering if it was only me?

Having some insight as both a frequent customer and someone with a family member who works at a town eatery, all those "Help Wanted" signs have an effect on the quality of service these places provide. Getting good, reliable people to take these jobs is tougher than ever.
