Contact info for Monster (Jerry)

Is jerry still in the computer business and, if he is, does anyone have contact info for him?

I have to get a new printer and I need it set up in my network.

Thank you.

We can try @monster - Yo Jerry!

I am drawing a big nothing on his web site. Not good for a computer guy

MOL lists a number of computer references for those who can make sense of these things

All listed under Business Directory

Pick your poison

Thank you for your help. I'll try to contact him via phone later.

If Jerry isn't available, I can help you Friday or Saturday. Let me know if you'd like that.

If neither Tom nor Jerry can help, there is a guy named Eric Marquise Harris that gets LOTS of raves on Facebook (in the SOMa SWAP groups.) I haven't used him personally, though.

I left a voice message for Jerry. His message still says Monster so we'll see what happens. I asked him to call me to let me know if he could help me or not. I'll keep everone else in mind in case this doesn't work out.

Thanks again for your help.

Those are the websites exactly where I got that particular referral from. And I can tell you unequivocally that it was an abysmal failure. It cost me over $150 and that particular individual had NO CLUE what he was doing. I have come to the conclusion that those reviews must have been placed by that person's friends or family . The recommendations on this site have been extremely disappointing for me. Unreliability, tardiness, and "hit or miss" are words I would use.

I finally went with a strong recommendation about an outfit who headquarters on Route 22. They came to my house. They were extremely prompt. They were quite efficient. All these computer guys seem to talk grandiose ideas about how wonderful they are and all the Magnificent things that they can do on the computer, and you have to sit there and feed their egos while they're attempting to rectify the problem that you have called upon them. It's actually exhausting work for you even though you are paying them . On the other hand this particular outfit had a totally different approach and was no nonsense about coming to your house and being very respectful and not wasting too much time with idle nonsense talk This particular outfit was humble, modest and grateful for the business.

I wanted so much to give business to our local people but it had never worked out for me. At least that has been my experience. Others may feel differently

But this is exactly what I am talking about. When you need these individuals they are never around and then you have to go searching for them. And then when you do find them they act as though they are doing you a favor by giving you a few minutes of their time. The truth is, it's the other way around. We are doing THEM the favor by giving them business. Instead of being so elusive they should be a lot more readily available particularly if they would like their business to flourish and if they want to promote themselves in a positive light. To disappear and be difficult to contact is not the way to conduct business

While I also use soma swap groups on Facebook for information, you really really must take it with a grain of salt. So far I got screwed with a carpenter whom I hired over there and the computer geek. Like I said I am totally convinced that I'm many of those "recommendations" are placed either by themselves or by their friends

Steve Brier - advertiser, recommend without reservation

Jerry - he's at UPS store in South Orange for a while now.

I've had the opposite experience as MapleBri. MOL is one of the first sites I turn to for a recommendation, and more often than not I've been very satisfied over the years, particularly if the suggestions are recent.

Hi, you can reach him at The UPS Store in South Orange, Monday thru Friday 1 to 7 pm.

I will send a text that you are looking for him.

Jasmo, MapleBri had bad experience with recommendations from Facebook Swap, not from MOL. I've also had great luck with MOL recs.

I so DO APOLOGIZE....you are correct. My unkind thoughts about these recommendations ARE related to Facebook Swap......NOT MOL.....in fact, my experiences have been QUITE GOOD with MOL!

Although when it comes to "computer techs" coming to one's house (sure we could all go to apple in MASH, or best buy geeks), but its not so easy schlepping DESKTOPS there! Having agreed with you, finding a "RELIABLE free-lance computer techie" to come to your house is a tough call. They ARE all nice people but "reliability" is problematic unless you go with a long term business, whose "badge of honor" is that they DO come at your "beck & call", without any fanfare - - without any "I'll do you a favor by coming over". If someone would like to know more, PM me and I will share with you my experiences. Everyone I have dealt with from MOL is VERY NICE. I have no qualms whatsoever with their "nice'ness and positive attitude. Reliability is a BIG ISSUE

I've used Steve Brier a couple times and found him to be reliable and capable.

I have used Steve Brier as well and he was reliable and prompt as well as capable.

I left a message for Jerry on Tuesday but never heard from him. I needed the printer set up by Friday so that I could print checks.

I was able to get someone to walk me through it over the phone. The printer came with a CD that just about set everything up itself, even sharing the printer on a network.

Thanks for your recommendations for Steve Briar. I will keep him in mind the next time that I need IT work.
