What did you do? I go on weekends fairly often and have good luck parking in Brighton Beach closer to Neptune, if you don't mind a walk on the boardwalk. The route through SI to the Belt is pretty standard and around 45-50 minutes, unless you get stuck behind a car fire, or a six-car collision on the Verrazano, both of which happened on the same trip last month.
I go often too. I take the Verrazano and usually park at the Cyclones' stadium. It's just easier than spending time looking for street parking.
Nice win for the visitors.
Sounded like there was a good game in Maplewood, too.
Ended up driving and searching for street parking by the park for about 15 minutes until realizing that the stadium lot is dedicated to the game and not available to beach goers as we had assumed. Big sign saying parking was $22.65, charged us $6.00. Will absolutely do that again.
One of our party took the advice that I gave him but that I second-guessed and ignored. He parked near the Bay Parkway station on the D line. Found parking easily.
Yes, great day for the Visitors! Got the W!
As to the Maplewood game, did our offspring engage in a pickup game? Heard something about that but didn’t know the participants.

Yep, a seven-inning, 2-1 alumni affair that I heard was “surprisingly well organized.”

Going to Coney Island for a 6pm game tonight. It is a 2-hour train and subway ride and Waze says 55 minutes, give or take a few minutes, all day, routed through Staten Island.
We plan to drive, but realize that parking will be awful. Thinking about parking near one of the subway stops nearby and taking the subway to Stillwell Ave. Right now the plan is to park near the Bay Parkway N station, but I’m second-guessing myself. Street parking is not great there either.
Anyone know those neighborhoods and have any other recommendations?
