You can remove it yourself with a product called Nature's Miracle, available at most pet stores. It contains enzymes which break down the odor and stain. There are excellent instructions on Nature's Miracle's web site.
Second on the Nature's Miracle suggestion. They now have multiple formulas, and I believe that one is made specifically for cat urine since that stuff does tend to be quite strong.
On a slightly related note, regular general purpose Nature's Miracle can also be used on carpets and upholstery for potty training accidents with toddlers.

My cat Jake is usually an excellent traveller, but he left a urine stain on the front seat of my car (fabric upholstery). Can anyone recommend a good car cleaner/detailer who can successfully take care of something like that? I've never had to deal with this type of problem before. Thanks.
