Christie beats Springsteen archived

...and possibly even accept the results.

Despite having the diabolical Karl Rove, billions in CU money, their own cable news and am radio outlets, the party was over by 11:00pm.

The black guy with the middle name of Hussein and an awful unemployment number won.

Nah, it was bypassing Congress and throwing a bone to the Latinos that did it, of course. And appealing to the freeloaders, who now outnumber the producers.

But you knew that. God help us all. Because we're at the point where the 10% won't be enough to carry the load, so every producer will be hit hard-the whole middle class. And then let's hear the sing song then.

But back to Christie and Springsteen-the fleece outdoes the bandana!

A 3 million vote difference out of 120 million cast sure doesn't seem like a stinging defeat to me-and Obama had a closer race than in 2008.

Yeah ok. Football teams don't mind when they only lose by a field goal either. Al gore was fine with losing by a few hundred votes in Florida in 2000. Nothing stinging there.

If you think you're going to win and you lose, eg Romney 2012, that's a stinging defeat.

"The freeloaders who now outnumber the producers." That is one scary sentiment.

Does this mean that Mrs. Romney doesn't get to redecorate Camp David?

get out of the '80s. it's a black vest now

freeloaders/producers...see what I mean about the bubble? You're going to make '16 very boring if you guys keep riding this horse.

Let's auction the fleece vs the bandana!

With Obama pied piping the rats over the fiscal cliff, 2016 won't be boring at all.

If the '12 election taught us anything, it's that the Romney folks were the bubble-dwellers: to repeat, all those private jets parked at Logan to attend the victory party; all those predictions wildly at odds with polls and reality; the Rove meltdown on live TV. If anyone needed further proof of a self-perpetuating alternate reality bubble, well, there you go...if anything, this lefty and many MOL libs were a tad nervous and there were quite a number of humorous media references (like the NYer cartoon I posted) about libs checking Nate Silver every 15 minutes in order to settle themselves down. Bubble? There's yer bubble, ma'am.

They still don't get it and probably won't. Even after the election, Boehner got a head slap for naming only men as committee chairs. He finally broke down and appointed a token woman. Women -- the people with the tubes -- have college degrees, careers and run companies. How did the GOP miss that?

Easy answer. Which is the party of old white men...........and a few young white men looking to succeed them?

no, it's trolling because no one with a sense of humor would find that link "hilarious." did you read that story and find yourself at the computer with tears rolling down your face because of uncontrollable laughter? could anyone really think that story would have a typical person doubled over with laughter? of course not.

And now you are an authority on what is funny?

I could care less from what place on earth some one posts on MOL.............I have contributed from Athens Greece and the Greek Islands and will be doing so again in the Spring. Others have written in from different parts of Europe and Asia.

What annoys me is someone who more than once has disparaged the intellectual level of MOL'ers as a whole.........and yet continues to

contribute, if you would call it that, on a regular basis. Not loling

Yet, you HAD to mention I am an " out of area contributor"? Oh and kudos on throwing in your trips/pending trips to Greece (why is that

relevant ?) BFD.

Yes, inside the bubble where the intellectual level of anyone who isn't left of center gets disparaged daily . . . the intolerance of the people who demand tolerance is the coin of the realm here, but you know that.

@johnlockedema

+1 million!

Relevant to the fact that I too have posted from out of the area. I thought that was self evident.

Umm MOST people would have just said "out of the area" or "out of the country".

You are a legend.....

In your own mind. oh oh

People like Mia Love, Marco Rubio, Condie Rice, etc etc etc must REALLY piss you off!

Btw: could you imagine the lefts outrage if a republican called the Democratic Party "the party of blacks"? ( just as false as the quote above)
oh oh

He's the Official Arbiter of All Things Funny at Disney.

Sure, he missed that "John Carter of Mars" should have been marketed as a comedy, but one little mistake shouldn't count against him like that. ;-)

Disney? THAT explains a LOT.

That's not a fair thing to say - "John Carter" wasn't THAT bad a movie.

Although, word is he's upset about the former planet Pluto being downgraded, since he doesn't want them to rename the dog "Uranus".

You can throw out a few individual names if it makes you happy, except now for Colin Powell. The undeniable fact is that the shrinking voting base of the GOP is old white men. Reference any publication you like on the matter. You cannot change facts.

Also I don't care if anyone calls the Democratic Party the "party of Blacks".........so long as they also include Women, Latinos, etc. The Democratic Party always was the one with the larger umbrella.

I do a lot of public speaking. so I know a little bit about what gets a laugh out of an audience. I can assure you with close to 100% confidence that telling an audience that Springsteen would only get 25% of the vote if he ran against Chris Christie for governor wouldn't get a laugh by itself.

but you never answered my question. did you personally find that nj.com article "hilarious?" do you think the average person would find it laugh-out-loud funny?

Back to the topic...

It seems most people missed the real comedy in the article:

"PPP did not ask voters if they'd prefer to have Christie leading the E Street Band during a show at MetLife Stadium, which is probably for the best."

-Brought to you by a resident of the Old Dominion.

Hey, the E Street Band had the Big Man once . . . Give Christie a tambourine!

You complained earlier about your intellect being "disparaged". When you post nonsense like what do you expect?

And talk about disparaging people. The Latinos get "thrown a bone" and that's all you think it takes to get their votes?

But really, do you actually believe that a majority of voters are on Welfare or some sort of public assistance?

Bypassing Congress, telling a government agency not to enforce existing laws passed by Congress-wtf do you think it was about? He ran in 2008 saying he'd take care of immigration reform in year one (when he had the juice in Congress), did nothing, then somehow managed to pull this off.

When almost half of voters pay no Federal Income tax, just who is supporting them? The other half that do. Simple math.

And, during Obama's first term food stamp expenditures have increased 100%. Figure where those votes went.

How does not earning enough to pay Federal Income Tax correlate with not being self-supporting?
They work and support themselves. They also pay sales taxes, real estate taxes and various other taxes.
A small portion of voters get food stamps. I doubt they all voted for Obama.

Of course Obama was trying to appeal to Latinos and other immigrant groups. He was also appealing to his base which is "liberal" on immigration. Just as Romney was catering to some of the base of the Republican Party by being tough on immigration.

That's what politicians do.

47 million people get food stamps. 12 million illegal aliens live in the USA, and some have legal relatives here who vote. 47% percent of voters who pay no Federal Income tax are supported by the 53% who do (although the top 20% carry most of the freight).

Romney lost by less than 3 million votes.

Easy, peasy to figure this one out.

in retrospect, maybe Romney would have won if the Republicans had passed some of those jobs bills and got all those freeloaders off the dole.
