A 3 million vote difference out of 120 million cast sure doesn't seem like a stinging defeat to me-and Obama had a closer race than in 2008.

Yeah ok. Football teams don't mind when they only lose by a field goal either. Al gore was fine with losing by a few hundred votes in Florida in 2000. Nothing stinging there.
If you think you're going to win and you lose, eg Romney 2012, that's a stinging defeat.

Nah, it was bypassing Congress and throwing a bone to the Latinos that did it, of course. And appealing to the freeloaders, who now outnumber the producers.
But you knew that. God help us all. Because we're at the point where the 10% won't be enough to carry the load, so every producer will be hit hard-the whole middle class. And then let's hear the sing song then.
But back to Christie and Springsteen-the fleece outdoes the bandana!

freeloaders/producers...see what I mean about the bubble? You're going to make '16 very boring if you guys keep riding this horse.

If the '12 election taught us anything, it's that the Romney folks were the bubble-dwellers: to repeat, all those private jets parked at Logan to attend the victory party; all those predictions wildly at odds with polls and reality; the Rove meltdown on live TV. If anyone needed further proof of a self-perpetuating alternate reality bubble, well, there you go...if anything, this lefty and many MOL libs were a tad nervous and there were quite a number of humorous media references (like the NYer cartoon I posted) about libs checking Nate Silver every 15 minutes in order to settle themselves down. Bubble? There's yer bubble, ma'am.

They still don't get it and probably won't. Even after the election, Boehner got a head slap for naming only men as committee chairs. He finally broke down and appointed a token woman. Women -- the people with the tubes -- have college degrees, careers and run companies. How did the GOP miss that?

Ahhh yes, "trolling" because God forbid anyone have a differing opinion.
no, it's trolling because no one with a sense of humor would find that link "hilarious." did you read that story and find yourself at the computer with tears rolling down your face because of uncontrollable laughter? could anyone really think that story would have a typical person doubled over with laughter? of course not.

I could care less from what place on earth some one posts on MOL.............I have contributed from Athens Greece and the Greek Islands and will be doing so again in the Spring. Others have written in from different parts of Europe and Asia.
What annoys me is someone who more than once has disparaged the intellectual level of MOL'ers as a whole.........and yet continues to
contribute, if you would call it that, on a regular basis. Not loling
Yet, you HAD to mention I am an " out of area contributor"? Oh and kudos on throwing in your trips/pending trips to Greece (why is that
relevant ?) BFD.
Yes, inside the bubble where the intellectual level of anyone who isn't left of center gets disparaged daily . . . the intolerance of the people who demand tolerance is the coin of the realm here, but you know that.
@johnlockedema
+1 million!

Easy answer. Which is the party of old white men...........and a few young white men looking to succeed them?

He's the Official Arbiter of All Things Funny at Disney.
Sure, he missed that "John Carter of Mars" should have been marketed as a comedy, but one little mistake shouldn't count against him like that. ;-)

That's not a fair thing to say - "John Carter" wasn't THAT bad a movie.
Although, word is he's upset about the former planet Pluto being downgraded, since he doesn't want them to rename the dog "Uranus".

People like Mia Love, Marco Rubio, Condie Rice, etc etc etc must REALLY piss you off!
Btw: could you imagine the lefts outrage if a republican called the Democratic Party "the party of blacks"? ( just as false as the quote above)
