Bring Out Your Dead! The celebrity death thread....

Truly sad for tennis fans of a certain age: Peter Doohan, the Becker Wrecker, of ALS aged 56.

I'm heartbroken to report that one of the most talented singers in our world has died, aged 46. Against family and tribal practice, I'll mention his name otherwise this won't make sense to you - Gurrumul wrote profound lyrics to simple yet intricate melodies, singing in English and in language around the world. A self-taught musician able to play many instruments, he was a shining light in Australian music and beloved by many.

His memory will be a blessing; may all who mourn him find comfort in memories of happier times.

(Jamie, this link is posted correctly and appears fine until the comment is posted, then it scrambles back-to-front and won't work(

Oh my!  I've been listening to him for a few years, probably thanks to you @joanne. A few of the old Youtube videos on my playlist had been removed for copyright infringement and though this one is from the official website, it doesn't have that plaintive sound I loved so much.

How's this news link? https://www.theguardian.com/mu...

healthcare. Millions of Americans. RIP

musicmz, thank you for fixing the link.

I can't stop crying, both for him and for the plight of people in remote Australia who have worse than lousy access to healthcare.

LOL Just short of 100 years, a talent of startling creativity, versatility and staying power. Everyone has memories of her work whether they realise it or not. It's only in the last couple of months her sister and brother-in-law, also talented voice actors, left us. LOL

Sam Shepard-73

From his plays, acting and music he was a creative force for over 50 years.

Cowboy Mouth, written and starring with Patti Smith. One of the more bizarre plays I've ever seen.

Robert Hardy - so much pleasure in All Creatures.  Siegfried imo is one of the great characters, precursor to The Office?  Nightmare boss in a way, but with so much heart and ability.  He also played Churchill in a series, I think.  RIP.

He played Churchill at least 4 times on screen. He was the definitive Churchill for me since The Wilderness Years.

Olympian Betty Cuthbert, aged 79 years.

Ty Hardin, the TV gunslinger known as "Bronco."

Not an actor or a show I was familiar with, but I was amused to read the birth name he gave up on his way to stardom: Orison Whipple Hungerford Jr.

The Wichita Lineman/Rhinestone Cowboy is gone.  R.I.P. Glen Campbell

Neat to hear. Where, and when?
