MCM Hosts Free Music Students Jazz Workshop

Maplewood Community Music\'s 20-piece community big band, Swing Town, led by Ben Williams is hosting the first of two jazz workshop for 8th grade, high school and college student musicians who play saxophone, trombone, trumpet, guitar or bass. Play a wide variety of jazz/swing and rock tunes — an enjoyable experience for young musicians of all skill levels. No jazz playing experience is required. This workshop will include an improvisation workshop. This is the 2nd of two workshops -- the first being held on June 3 at DeHart from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. Participants are invited to perform with Swing Town at two of their summer gigs on June 17 and July 29. There is no cost to participate, though a donation to Maplewood Community Music would be great appreciated so that we may continue to offer free youth outreach programs such as this one.
