This December marks the 22nd Annual Gingerbread Wonderland. What started as a small display of gingerbread houses has now become an incredible 10-day exhibit of over 200 edible structures. We’ve seen everything from the Notre Dame Cathedral, grand pianos, Chinese pagodas, and Hanukah menorahs to Santa’s workshop, the Eiffel Tower and the Jersey Shore. Over 15,000 guests kick off their holiday celebrations with a visit to this charming and ecumenical exhibit. Two special treats are in store for visitors this year. Each Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Sculpted Ice Works will be here demonstrating their ice carving skills outside in the Cottage Garden. Each Sunday, The Hickory Tree Chorus will greet you at the front entrance singing carols from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Groups of 8 or more must make a reservation to visit by calling 973-326-7601. Become part of the excitement and build a gingerbread structure to display in the exhibit. $2.00 donation for attendees. Entry forms will be online at www.arboretumfriends.org after October 1.
