Dorthaan's Place: Antoinette Montague Quartet

This Newark-born diva has created a stir with her recent engagements at top New York City jazz spots like The Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, and the Jazz Standard. Whether she’s belting out a gutsy blues number or whispering a gentle love song, Montague has become known for her evocative interpretive powers as well as her technical prowess. On her CD Behind the Smile, Montague lends her singular touch to a mix of original songs and American standards like “The Song Is You,” “Get Ready,” “Somewhere in the Night,” and more. This intimate jazz brunch at NICO Kitchen + Bar is curated and hosted by WBGO programmer Dorthaan Kirk, Newark\'s \"First Lady of Jazz.\" There are two shows on March 23: 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. Brunch is available before each show at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
