Wine Barrel on Springfield

Just stopped in for the first time and was super psyched about their huge beer selection (picked up a tart lychee Belgium and a good looking Saison.) Also had a great price on my favorite wine.  Glad I made the spontaneous stop in and wanted to give them a shout out.

It rocks.

Period.

Agreed!  Huge selection, great deals, easy parking, friendly staff.

I agree that Wine Barrel is a great addition to our neighborhood. I love the Friday night wine tasting.  Nice opportunity to try something new!

Love this place.  Very pleasant, easy to navigate interior and plenty of parking.

We are happy customers, too. Their selection has expanded greatly since they first opened, and they are always willing to try to bring in a customer's favorite wine, if they can. I just wish the store looked more inviting from the outside - sometimes, it's hard to tell if they are open or not, because it always looks dark. I have friends who haven't visited the store for that reason - hoping good word of mouth helps them increase their business. I really want to see the store succeed!

Another happy customer here, and it's walking distance for me! I do agree that passerby's might think it is closed at times due to the darkness, hope they can do something about that to bring in more business.

happy customer- knowledgeable staff- wish they carried a better variety of mixers (even though they are the WINE barrel) best part is great parking

They already know me well enough to know what everyone in my family drinks.   Hmmmmm.

Ridiculous beer selection and to whmever is buying all the smithwicks, leave some for the rest of us dude.

Another fan -- great addition to the neighborhood.

Quite a store.  Went in for a six-pack of some sort of beer and ended up buying a bottle of their craft-distillery rye whiskey.

Definitely an asset to the commercial district on Springfield Avenue.

Went in for a 6 of Heineken Lite for ctrzwife and came out 25 minutes later with a mixed case (+2 singles) after a great discussion with Matt (partly on wine for hell of it--had some interesting stuff on the low-cost end, including Kung-Fu Girl which was a nice surprise).  Great selection, loved the variety of 12 oz singles.

You really should learn to read labels more carefully.  I mean, I know both liquids are brown, but really....

Ha! Just wanted to add some more support for the Wine Barrel.  I've found the staff to be very nice and it's a great addition to the neighborhood.

It was the whiskey tasting station at the front door what done me in.

Agreed on all counts. Nice to see some Sly Fox there, and Neshaminy Creek lager, a brewery I haven't tried but look forward to drinking tonight.

And staring at me as I walked in the door, among the specials, was an unmistakable signal from The Great Beyond: Pat Paulsen wine.

Craft beer and a write-in vote come November. That's full service.

Love the Neshaminy Creek Lager!!

Looking forward to it even more now. I'll be working past midnight, but the way these games drag on, hopefully there's an All-Star inning to enjoy with it when I get home.

The Wine Barrel also carries Luksusowa vodka. It's an inexpensive Polish potato vodka that's better than most Vodkas that cost more.
