Why is the yellow house ...

...the one that is/was being sold,  again...no longer yellow?

Which yellow/newly painted house is this?

These threads always go well. Maybe Dave and Jamie should just ban 4 or 5 people at random and sink this thread right now.

Q. Why is the yellow house ... the one that is/was being sold, again ... no longer yellow?

A. The Realtor wanted to improve its banan appeal.

Ha ha ha!  Perfect response.

Regardless of the color, it is a beautiful house!

The yellow one that's not yellow. Try to keep up.

Thinking it must be the one on the south side of Ridgewood above the village. Big porch along the whole front. Shingled Victorian.

It seemed more orange to me than yellow...

Jeez people. Pay attention. The yellow house is no longer yellow.

Sounds like it may not have been yellow even when it was.

(When I looked up to Ridgewood, I saw their 'hood -- a funny shade of ocher.)

Ocher is the reason Grandpa can't hear!

Not to spoil all the fun, but it's this house, which I loved before it lost its coat of many colors.

The orange color was much more historically and esthetically appropriate for that house. It unfortunately now looks like it is sporting a coat of primer.

Interesting. Someone must have paid for it with their dollars and done whatever the hell they wanted without first consulting MOL for the proper permits.

Can't blame anybody for being a fan of the status quo.

Excuse me for wanting to make Maplewood beautiful again.

I give up. Matchstick man arguments never get me anywhere.

What is a matchstick man argument? Isn't a matchstick man a con artist?

Why can you not blame anybody for being a fan of the status quo? I can think of countless situations in which supporting the status quo is eminently blameworthy.

As to the original question, my guess is that a realtor convinced the owners that it would be more marketable if it were more "neutral". Boring sells.

I thought we were going to make Maplewood great again?
