Why don't PSEG & NJAWC accept credit cards for payment? archived

I want to know - is it a utility thing?
Considering they would have to pay 1-2% off the top why should they?

Yes Verizon and other do but I can see why a compnay would want to not do so.

Any way it may be a bad idea if it encourages people to use a credit card with a balance to pay these bills.

Some NJ utilities allow credit cards but then they will charge you a processing fee.

I think PSEG does, but they charge a 5.95 fee.
