Who is Watching the Debate?

I'm wicked grossed out.

I'm watching but I don't know why.

I couldn't stand more than 5 minutes. Hubby still watching.

It's like a train wreck. Youcan't look away

Okay. I just took a peek. Jeb smiling, while Trumps bulldozes on....don't know. Jeb doesn't seem to have any weight. Carly Fiorina seemed better, and I cannot stand her.

I quit---- I was having disturbing flashbacks of teaching unruly 9th graders.

I just hate everything they say. Special shout out to Chris Christie for his bragging about defunding Planned Parenthood.

We just gave up. Despite the "ground rules" that all would have equal time most of the questions were for Trump. It was really nice when Rubio and Fiorina spoke about how they would deal with Russia. They sounded authoritative and knew names of key people.

Listening to Trump constantly interrupt Jeb Bush was annoying. I started yelling at the TV.

The "moderators" are really trying to instigate conflict among the candidates. If I were a Republican I would be cringing. These people are going to rip each other apart. Guess the GOP learned nothing from the 2012 election.

"the life of the baby" until 75 or 80? I thought people stopped being babies after a year or so.

I sympathize. But I teach 9th graders and they are better behaved. cheese

I have little respect for CNN. When they have a gazillion talking heads on all talking at the same time during campaigns, it is the same chaotic nonsense.

Oh, Chris Christie just announced that the important focus needed to be on helping the middle class. Wish he would tell the governor of New Jersey to do that.

Oh, exactly. Scary.

Absolutely.

They're exhausted. This is ridiculously long and full of platitudes.

CNN has marketed this like a boxing match, and they're living up to their marketing by setting it up like a boxing match. Each question asked by CNN is designed to pit candidates against each other. So-and-so said this and that about your point of view, how do you respond to so-and-so. They call it prompting a true debate, but it's clear they just want punches.

Jake Tapper is writing a college paper, finding inconsistencies and disagreements. And oddly enough trying to drum up belligerence and a commitment to war in the Middle East.

Christie saying politicians are stealing people's retirements. The irony is incredible.

These people's funhouse mirror distortions of the world are making me nauseous.

Now they are talking about vaccinations and autism.

Unbelievable!

nau·seous
ˈnôSHəs,ˈnôzēəs/

1.
affected with nausea; inclined to vomit.
"a rancid, cloying odor that made him nauseous"
synonyms:
sick, nauseated, queasy, bilious, green around the gills, ill, unwell;

2.
causing nausea; offensive to the taste or smell.
"the smell was nauseous"

I stand corrected.

Governor Walker: "I stood up to the big government [private citizen] union bosses"

Howard Fineman says Fiorina and Christie did better than Trump. Trump says he won because the Drudge report has him winning at 60%. But Fineman says Trump has a grip on the immigration issue.

These guys and gal wouldn't have any more luck defeating Obamacare, the Iran deal, not going into war again, than they did rolling back Roe vs Wade. Their goose is cooked, I believe. I like the way Chris Matthews calls them all "Daddy Warbucks." I like the way he said Rubio sounded like he's fresh from Boys' State.

I remember years ago sitting through 3 plus hours of Kabuki at Lincoln Center. I thought that was the most excruciating, torturous three hours in my life. Until last night. Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden or Hillary will mop the floor with any of those clowns. "Defund Planned Parenthood" - what a rallying cry.

I'm asking this honestly and maybe a Bush supporter or Republican/conservative can answer. It was a big applause line, but I don't understand what Jeb meant when he said that his brother "kept us safe."

I'd understand if Jeb wanted to shout that W "held us together" or "moved the nation forward" during a terrible crisis, but the "kept us safe" wording baffles me. He can't even claim that W "kept us safe" by capturing or killing bin Laden after 9/11.

I'm neither a Bush supporter nor a Republican/conservative. That said, I believe the thinking is that 9/11 was Clinton's fault and Bush went to war against Afghanistan and Iraq and kept the terrorists busy over there so that they couldn't come here.

Oh, and Katrina was Obama's fault.

Something like that.

I felt like I could see the rusty cogs in Trump's head trying to decide whether to blurt out "Your brother kept us safe??? Your brother was in charge on 9/11."
