Where to purchase hay to cover newly planted seed

Need a small amount of hay to cover some newly planted seed in a few places in our backyard. Does anyone know of a local source? Thanks!

Orange garden supply had it last week.

I also saw it at Pierson's mill

My husband says: you really want straw, not hay. Hay has seeds and could cause weeds. He went to a feed store to buy hay for his garden but when he discussed why he needed it, the salesman told him he wanted straw. Hay is a food source for animals where straw is dead & makes a great weed deterrent. Good luck with your garden!

I have some you can have. I purchased a 1/2 bale of salt hay a few weeks ago and it was still too much for my veggie beds.

Send me a msg and we can arrange a pick up if you haven't purchased it already.

The hay you want is called "salt marsh hay" and is weed free. Haven't used it in years, but Pierson's always had it and sold smaller amounts.
