Maybe Woodland btwn Durand/Beach/Jefferson. I think it's permit only for awhile, maybe 6-9 am. After that, I don't think there is time limit. Same with Highland Place up towards Ridgewood.
Maplewood Ave is permit until 9am. It's not the closest to the station, but there are usually spots on Maplewood Ave near Jefferson.
Is this a regular thing for you, or occasional? And to catch the train, I'm assuming? If occasional and for the train, there's a block near the SO train station that is legal after 11AM.
In Maplewood, I think Oakview/Park Rd is open to non-permit holders after 9 or 10am. (It's been a couple years since I parked there though, so check the signs as well as current parking availability at 11am)

A bit more closer to town/station are the spots on the other side of Maplewood Ave. a bit south of the dance school at the end of the NJ Transit lot and if those spots are taken (people start parking there about 9) there are plenty of spots on the side street off Maplewood Ave. there like Winthrop and perhaps Lenox is also a post 9 am street. And perhaps you've been told about the S.O. post 11 am area too. You got options man!
North and South Crescent are other possibilities. Spots can usually be found there during the day.
I found that Woodland Road by The Woodland meets my needs - it's 4 hour parking there from 9-4pm. Thanks for the feedback!

Dunnell is usually pretty full at this time. I got away with town lots a few times. But wondering what the closest legal spot may be? I head into the City a few times a week for 3-4 hours and I normally take the 11:40.
