Have you considered a fog machine? You can get one for relatively cheap, and some have ice chambers to weight the fog to the ground if you were planning to use it outside.
Dry ice doesn't last all that long..... Even the cheap fog machines can run off a timer
Paolo's Kitchen, South Street, New Providence, (908) 219-4166. We use dry ice all the time, for a variety of things. It will keep very well if wrapped in cardboard and stored in a cooler. Please remember to always wear gloves when handling it.
Speaking of fog machine 'chillers', the most cost-effective one is called a trash-can chiller. its a cheap plastic trash can and a few lengths of dryer duct. Fill with ice and presto!
I know Lickt Gelato used a lot of dry ice for transporting their delicious gelatos, perhaps you can pop in there? They're on Ridgewood Road across from Cedar Ridge Cafe.
