Where can we find a good grill?

We're about to purchase a home and are looking for a gas grill.  The hubs wants to know where you purchased your grill, cost and if you're satisfied with your purchase.

Thanks!

I bought a Weber Genesis at Home Depot several years ago for about $600. I am usually cheap but was willing to spend more because of the Weber brand reputation. I have not been disappointed.  The grill is still in great shape despite my not being the most attentive owner.

My previous CharBroil model started to rust out after a few years.

27" DCS, about $1,300, store gone now, stupidly good and powerful grill.

Try Harquail Bros. in Summit.

Weber Silver $700, discounted after the unit was slightly dented.  Put together and delivered by Lowes.

Love it!

If you are going to put in a gas line, make sure the line is big enough to support the BTU's the grill is able to produce.  A too small gas line will impede the cooking time and temperatures.  I paid my plumber about $400 to increase the gas line from 1/4" to 1/2" and was blown away by how much faster and cleaner it cooked.  Also, I asked for additional gas line tubing to move grill around a bit.

I also got rotisserie accessories and absolutely love it.  I did not get the side burner, found it unnecessary

+1 for Harquail and caution on inadequate house gas.

gilensons in Livingston for a weber

Note that if you're using natural gas versus propane you need to make sure the grill matches what you're using.

We like our Weber Spirit.  It's our second Weber. The first one lasted about 25 years.  I think we ordered ours through Amazon and hubs assembled it.  But you can definitely get them at HD and Lowes.

Weber Genesis from HD about 3 years ago from Lowe's. No assembly required.

Also purchased ours from Gilenson. We bought a Weber Genesis too. They sell a better quality grill than HD.

I used to use Gilenson for yearly maintenance and repairs.  The last 2 times I felt ripped off.  He charged me more to clean a grill than buying a new one. I do not recommend him.

Gilenson for new grill and installation--highly recommend. Also Weber Genesis. Never had them back to clean it though.  Go visit--nice family business.

Great - thank you so much!  We will check out the Weber Genesis at Gilenson's.  We drive by all the time on the way to and from work.

We ordered our Weber Genesis from Amazon and we love it

Gilenson set up our grill and also gives a 1 year warranty.

We got a Ducane gas grill (love it) from Harquail Bros. in Summit  Check them out! Not mentioning the price as we've had it 10+ years already.

Tip: Keep an extra propane tank around!

Gilenson here too, for a fairly high-end Weber.  They did a wonderful job of helping with a fussy installation, including gas line issues and dealing with our masonry contractor (to get gas line connection installed in a patio nicely).

Husband took a quick look at Harquail brothers and decided he didn't need to be seduced to a higher-priced brand, but is glad that he checked to see what the more expensive options looked like.

Around my house LP grill's don't last more than a few years.   The last two $200 Grills lasting two to three years were better than the $800 grill that lasted 5, but needed new venturi / burners after 3.

I don't own one, but there is something aesthetically wonderful about an old-school Weber.

I've been waiting this whole thread to say this.  Who wants a good grill when bad grills are so much fun?

Harquails also sells the Weber Spirit (inexpensive but not US-made) and the Weber Genesis, which seems to be popular on this thread.  They will take away your old grill and assemble the new one.  Nice people.
