"Evacuation?" What's up at the South Mountain Annex????

Just got a call from the principal saying that it had been "evacuated". Anyone have a clue what is going on?

Plumbing issue. Probably another burst pipe. With no water, no bathrooms.

Yeah, the second recorded message had a few more details and was a little less alarming.

This happens a couple of times every year. Does anyone know what the issue is? I can't help but think that, in the long term, a permanent fix might not be cheaper than this never ending cycle of repair and failure.

This is what happens when there is a budget crunch. Capital projects are put off, and band-aids are used, even when it is more economical to just fix the problem.

Stevenson Class of 92 (although I lived at Porter for a year in the middle there). Mrs GoSlugs is a Stevenson alum as well. What a long strange trip it has been (from Santa Cruz to MAPSO).

Very cool! I am a CA native and a "College Nine" alum (didn't have a name yet and I think it still doesn't). My husband is a Porter alum and is from NJ. I love seeing UCSC folks around!
