What are you paying for home insurance?
About $850 per year. Is your house worth $500k, as in, it would cost $500k to replace your house? Or could you sell it (and the land) for $500k?
The ins company says it would cost that to replace house. From whom do you get insurance?
The amount one pays also depends factors other than just the dwelling value, including but not limited to: value of Personal Belongings, value of Other Structures (e.g. detached garage), amount of Personal Liability, Loss of Use limits / reimbursements, and deductibles. We pay about $1,500 per year but that includes coverage for all of the aforementioned at different but reasonable / standard amounts.
We use Homesite/Progressive. I think there's a discount for using them for home and auto. Our house is worth less than yours though
