Weekend Leaf Peeper Op with Garden Substance

If you are looking for a fall outing this weekend here are events about an hour away that are garden oriented. Admission is free but there is a $5 parking fee. I plan on going Sunday for their guided tour of the grounds. A link at the bottom will give you directions.

Saturday . October 17
If you visit the NJ Botanical Garden on Saturday, you'll see a lot of serious work going on.
Jacobsen Landscape Design and Construction, Inc. of Midland Park will be coordinating a company-wide volunteer project at NJBG, working along with student volunteers from SUNY, the State University of New York, Cobbleskill.
Jacobsen employees and SUNY students will be volunteering their time to edge beds, prune ornamental shrubs and trees, make repairs to the hardscape, plant 110 new boxwood plants, and mulch different locations at the New Jersey Botanical Garden. Two weeks ago they also generously donated their time, equipment and labor at Ringwood Manor.
This volunteer effort reflects Jacobsen's company culture to give back to the community, and is part of their 'Come Alive Outside' program, which encourages people to get out and enjoy nature.
A hearty 'Thank You!' to this special group of volunteers.
