Waste Management Yard Waste Program altern

Is there an alternative to this besides landscaper? averaging 50% plus increase and terrible service per this email exchange

Hi Jatin

Thank you for the quick response. I would like to add the seasonal yard waste service but I do not understand why I have to call the 800 number again

I did that just before emailing you earlier today and got a robot that could not understand the request. So I tried by email which your brochure clearly says is one of my two options to activate. I have done this by email successfully several years in row as you could see from the email trail below.

You ask for my ID proof and yet the fourth line in my very short email is saying attached is my id followed by picture of my driver’s license.

I have submitted ID for the last two years. As far as I know, once you reach the age of 55 you don’t get younger so I don’t see why you need to continually collect this .

Per your suggestion I tried to start a chat but your website is “temporarily down for maintenance.

Also from the email trail I notice this price history which shows dramatically escalating rates for what appears to be dramatically deteriorating service.

Waste Industries also bumped their price this year, but now it's up to $90 something.  Switch to Waste Industries.

Agree.  There have been so many problems with WM recently.  WI is more reachable and less expensive.  Like WM they offer a senior rate. You can reach a live person on the phone, ask about their services, and get a rate quote.

That's a  great snarky letter written to someone who has absolutely no control over pricing or policies.  Getting older doesn't give you the right to be rude to employees.

Good point I agree I was rude and i didn't mean to dump on him as he was probably just directed to send the boilerplate rate hike alert - i'll clarify in my next response its the management that is acting badly

Do you have more yard waste than is picked up by the town's Spring and Fall Rake-out, which is free?  (In other words, do you really need it picked up over the summer/early fall?)

We always fully use the material picks up during the summer. We don't hire a third party land maintenance service.  But over the past 1-1/2 year we've lost 2 large trees, so it's time to evaluate this increase.

I do and I kinda hate it now that I'm getting older. I get leaves and branches all year long as well a lot of shrub clippings. I'm starting to feel like there's too much nature I have to deal with regularly.

I just take it to south orange public works yard on Tuesday or Thursday. But I have a pickup truck, but you can put it in trash cans and dump it there.

Is that only for SO residents?

I’ve been going over there for years so I guess they just don’t ask questions. I don’t think they will hassle anyone unless you’re a landscaper. I really don’t know why Boyden Avenue won’t do the same, maybe there’s not enough space for that?

I'm changing to Waste Industries in September.  Seem like there is no fewer services between the and WM.  First call to WI, I spoke to a pleasant REAL person.  4 calls and 3 chats later with WM since they left my trash container on the road filled with my garbage and from other household and I have no resolve.  No responses.

They are staging garbage again.  The town has ordered them to stop doing this.  Let DPW know.  The truck will be by eventually to pick up all the garbage.

WM question - Do they still include bulk pickup in the service and, if so, how is it being done these days? (I no longer see the "one item per week" out on the curb so I wondered. I currently use WI.)
