What a nice story. I had no idea that dogs could live that long. Rachel is 12, and she is in excellent health, so maybe I need to alter my plans for the future which is to live in the countryside while the dogs are with me. Maggie is a working dog, Rachel mostly sleeps all day long. I wonder if the lack of exercise will shorten her life.
I think we can all do with a bit of exercise. A walk (or if you're a dog, a run) in the fresh air does a body good.

Maggie, an Australian kelpie, died at the weekend. If she wasn't the world's oldest working dog, she was certainly a close second. And only by a couple of weeks.
