Anyone know why Vose is closed? I wasn't able to get to Mt Train Station, the street is blocked of by the Police.

There was a stabbig there last night at around 9:00. Saw this on my FB newsfeed.

A 48-year-old South Orange resident was stabbed in the neck and back in what appeared to be an unprovoked attack by an unknown assailant Monday night, said police.

The resident was walking his dog on Vose Avenue and Stewart Place at around 8:15 p.m. Monday when he was approached by a man who asked him a question, said South Orange Police Chief James Chelel. “For unprovoked reasons, he began to assault [the man walking his dog],” before running away north on Vose Ave., said Chelel.

Thank you for the link to the article. I'm glad the injuries were not life-threatening, although non-life threatening injuries can still be pretty bad.

Very scary. So often when approached by a stranger, I feel like I have to answer questions or engage as not to be rude. Especially when you are going about your normal routine in a place perceived to be safe.
