I like the Mets colors! Any idea what type of food it is. I appreciate the "food for all" optimism, but they clearly haven't encountered my daughter.

I wish you hadn't called my attention to that.

If it’s any consolation, the sign is more Marlins than Mets.

Dolphins too. (I was staying with the MLB theme.)
They need to up their online game. At least post a menu better than through the glass with glare.

Seriously. They have 892 followers on instagram and when they finally posted that they were open, all the responses were "menu?" "do you have a website?" "what kind of food is it?"
That location eats restaurants, they have to up their game.

Yup. Setting up a basic website for a restaurant can't be too hard or expensive these days.
I wish them well, but I agree. They have to up their game if they want to compete with the other places on that strip. Tenders and fries and mac and cheese on the menu could get us in the door. They should have a number on that pic also for people to call to place orders.
To clarify, someone walking past the place last Saturday took the picture. This isn't their official menu picture. They haven't posted an official menu picture.
My first look at the meno, "So what?"
After taking a longer look, the sides look worth a visit.
But protein ---- fried, roasted, raw?

I thought it was going to be a Japanese sea urchin establishment.
--- gotta watch out for that Japanese stuff. I saw this documentary once. There was this guy, Homer Simpson, almost got himself killed, eating some kind'a Japanese fish at a sushi place.
I have not - the official grand opening/ribbon cutting is tomorrow:

Here is an article from Patch.com

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Do you want to try a little of everything? Uni Kitchen, a new restaurant in Maplewood Village, will offer a range of poultry, seafood, and pasta dishes, as well as a buffet in case families can't agree on what they want.
They'll hold their grand opening this weekend with activities like face-painting, games, and a drawing.
They've invited the public to come by starting at 1 p.m. for "Good food, good vibes, and a good time" they say, stressing that the restaurant is family friendly.
Looks like they refined the menu from the one I posted a month ago. Looks interesting! I wish them every success!
I was in the village for the art walk yesterday and was surprised to see that Uni Kitchen was closed. Did they miss an opportunity there?

Probably, yeah. They don't seem to have a website, their instagram page has 1,000 followers but only 9 posts with no opening time information. So maybe they're always closed on Sundays, but we don't know.
We wanted to order from there last night, but they have no website and weren't on doordash. Not a good way to succeed. Ended up going with scratch taco instead.
This menu is 100% better then what was posted in the window awhile back. In particular - I didn't like how they listed the proteins without knowing how they were going to be prepared.
Has it closed already? We tried ordering 3 times online and had no luck. I drove by a couple of times over the past two weeks and walked by and it has never been open.

That spot is snake-bit.
The only time I have heard anything about Uni Kitchen is on this thread.
I was parked in front of it a few weeks back, saw a guy go in. I was there for about 20 minutes, he never came out, the lights were off. Strange happenings…

One of the Twilight Zone episodes was a documentary on this kind of stuff. Is Kristin still alive?
