Trickle Down Economics Becomes Noah's Deluge!

As I post, the Dow is down around 400 points, just today, making an 1100 in two days. So is this the redult of Trump's Tax Package, challenging the efficacy of Kudlow-like trickle-down economics.  Right now stockbrokers in Wall.Street must be slipping and sliding down the Laffer curve on their watery course. Is this a correction, or a cataclysm? Your thoughts? Concern about Bolton? Mueller's pressure?  The imminent trade war?  The "ridiculous" Omnibus spending bill? Anyone seen Noah?  I'd like a ride on his Ark!

When does it hit the real economy, which seems to be humming (or is it?)

I'd say keep an eye out. How long does an earthquake result in a tidal wave?

Does this mean he caved in on the Gateway Tunnel project?  I think it was in the bill:

There's no reason to buy, and cash is no longer a dirty word.

I read that he did, at least partially, but that was two days ago....

Business people like a degree of certainty.  Trump's White House reality show does not provide that.

apparently Ryan went to the White House and made his case.  Just goes to show that eventually even the Ayn Randians realize that the most important rail corridor in the country can't repair itself, and the private sector isn't going to.

it's funny to hear Steve Forbes blame Mark Zuckerberg. It's also funny to hear Fox "reporter' say "Some Trump supporters are changing their minds about him (Trump) over this," referring to the market debacle! Ya think??

If this is true, I'd like to think it reflects some trace amounts of sanity in Trump.  It was political revenge that prompted his earlier no-tunnel position and we've seen in other situations that he is immune to advice when emotionally locked into a position.

I think again, you can't lower taxes and raise spending.

This is a big problem we are kicking down the road.

That's like saying that I can't get rip-roaring drunk.  The problem is the next day.

he's also prone to going with the last thing that someone told him.  So Ryan was smart to wait until the bill was about to pass.

They just put everything in.  No restraint at all.  Yes, I am glad the tunnel is there, but I would not have objected to a little debate over the bill.  We are killing our kids with this debt.  Our generation, and the one before us ( I am 50), should really be ashamed.

Trump doesn’t mind a reduction in the market; Miners don’t have 401k’s.

Farmers who suddenly see reduced  demand for their products exported to China aren't going to care about their 401k accounts either.

They are going to have a lot more to worry about.

Trump is a moron.

Exactly.
