Transportation to Polls

Some citizens seem to need transportation to the polls. Is there a number they can call for assistance?

This is the number that might be able to help with transportation to the polls. Hope it helps. How many people do you know need to get to the polls?

1-866-OUR-VOTE

Thanks,Jaytee.I will pass info on. Evidently there is no voting at Clinton and some elderly are finding out it  is now at CHS. This is a small election but so important.

Just seeing this now.  It is a bit last minute but they can try calling Senior Transportation if they live in Maplewood 973-763-0750 or the Parking Authority if they live in South Orange.  First thing Monday morning if possible and see if any arrangements can be made.  Another possibility is to call their district leader for assistance.  With so many seniors voting by mail this year, travel to the polls may not have been on anyone’s radar.

Thanks,Joan.            Another thank you. Had trouble responding to you second time but I think her relative is helping.

Just saw this thread…I would have/will to drive folks that need help.

How to volunteer?  Now?

Next time?

You could let Michelle Wesley know.  She will be the most likely person to receive requests for transport to the polls.  As I stated above, with the Dropbox, early voting, and voting by mail, there is less need for rides to the polls than before COVID.

I just received this information from SOMS Two Towns For All Ages and verified it with both Kristen Cook Tyler (SOMA Two Towns For All Ages) and Michelle Wesley (Maplewood Senior Transportation).  Please share with any senior living in Maplewood or South Orange who is still in need of a ride to their polling place tomorrow.

Book a ride today ,Monday November 7, 2022, for a ride to the polls tomorrow!
In South Orange Call 973-378-7715 x 2035
In Maplewood call (973) 763-0750
If you find yourself without a ride on Tuesday, November 8, call 973-558-0863 (SOMA Two Towns For All Ages) to be connected to volunteers in the community who are offering to drive seniors to their polling place.
