Be prepared for a long recovery period. Not too much pain, but alot of discomfort.
Schob is terrific, but unavailable to most as he doesn't accept many insurance plans.
If Matthew Garberina is also listed, he would be another excellent choice. He did mine a year ago, and I'm very pleased.
From a patient perspective (and, your employer's) the goal of workers' compensation treatment is to return you to productive work as quickly as possible. So, it is in everyone's interest to use medical professionals who do a good job.
Another - strong - vote for Garberina. I've had both shoulders 'done' and the one he worked on is far and away the closest to 'good as new'. Multiple tears, screws inserted to hold the tendons in place... yes, recovery was lengthy, but nothing compared to the pain of the original injury.
And another vote for Garberina. I went to him with a slightly torn rotator cuff, he told me not to get an operation, that I could deal with it. And he gave me exercises to do. I did the exercises, and showed them to my trainer at the gym, and I'm pretty close to pain free at this point. It's pretty impressive when a guy who gets most of his money through operations tells you not to get an operation.
I had a somewhat similar experience with Garberina, in that he essentially told me that the decision was mine based on my quality of life. I liked that I didn't feel pressured into surgery. (One side note: Be prepared to spend some time in the waiting room. He seems to run behind, even for morning appointments.)

Dr. Andrew Willis of Tri-County Orthopedics in Morristown did my rotator cuff surgery about 3 years ago. He's fantastic and I highly recommend him. Apparently, the Jets think so too, because he's one of 2 team orthopedists.
