Berkeley Heights is not that bad... 20 minutes from SOMA via 78.
but sorry, know nothing about any of the therapists.
Note that it can take a while to get an appointment. Also, wise to book several in advance. You can always cancel.

Also one of the two SMG locations told me that I had to get my ex-husband's sign-off on my daughter's therapy - the other location said nothing of the sort, even after I asked, leadingly, "So do I need to bring or get anything else?" I don't want to have to bring my ex into this discussion, and I've never heard of this type of requirement. Is this common practice??
How old is your teen? In NJ, minors age 16 and 17 do not need the consent of ANY parent for mental health treatment.
Meryl Pfeiffer is an excellent child/adolescent therapist in Summit who takes Cigna www.merylpfeiffer.com
Have experience with Bickoff but with a younger child, not a teen. Very good experience.
The behavioral health group that I'm a member of requires consent from both parents.

I'm looking for a therapist to work with my teenager. With my Cigna insurance plan, Summit Medical Group seems to be the best solution. The therapists with openings in the SMG Springfield and Livingston locations are Allison Berry, April Bickoff and Kristin Cole. (The SMG Warren, Clifton and Berkeley Heights locations seem awfully far away, though I'd drive there for a great therapist.) Does anyone have experience, good or not-so-good, with Berry, Bickoff or Cole?
Also one of the two SMG locations told me that I had to get my ex-husband's sign-off on my daughter's therapy - the other location said nothing of the sort, even after I asked, leadingly, "So do I need to bring or get anything else?" Thanks!
