So, the other day, my wife came home and noticed that there was a mysterious (and ugly) chair was left on our curb. Obviously, this wasn't the end of the world, but it's pretty annoying for someone to be essentially 'illegally dumping' a chair on our yard. It wasn't close enough to any of our neighbors for it to reasonably be one of them leaving it there temporarily - at least in any sensible way.
So after a few minutes of thinking about 'what should we do', I remembered the SOConnect app. I figured it wouldn't hurt to report it, but I wasn't really expecting anything to happen. Lo and behold, I just got a report that someone from the DPW stopped by to take the chair away. Pretty amazing, huh?
We didn't really uphold our side of the bargain, since the chair disappeared on its own the next day, so it wasn't there when the guy came to take care of it. (Remember to update your incidents!) But I have to say I'm pretty impressed.
(Also worth passing on, that the guy did mention that they're on to the fact that people use this to get rid of items for free. So don't overdo it!)
Figured I'd report it to buck the trend of the Internet only being people complaining about things not working.
