thanks for the review, I was thinking about taking the kids this weekend. I think I will make a point of it tomorrow
We enjoyed it and our toddler had a great time considering that he did not have any clue as to who Snoopy is or Charlie Brown for that matter.
I'm taking my daughter next week. I might be more excited than she is.
I can't decide if 3D will freak her out or not. She's 4.
I liked it. My 5 year old was really concerned with Lucy.
"Why is that girl so mean to Chawlie?"
My 4 year old will not keep the glasses on. I see no reason to pay more for my kids to watch a blurry screen so I just wait for a normal version.

There is a non-3D version out. No need to wait!

I was so sure it would be dreadful that I had already written it off. None of the TV specials lived up to the wonderful poignant sweetness of "A Charlie Brown Christmas." But now I will be on the lookout when it comes to the small screen. I miss the early days of Peanuts.
Saw it with the kids. Perfectly okay. But I've got to say, both my kids and myself couldn't really see the point as to why this movie was made (aside from the marketing angle benefiting from a Peanuts resurgence).
maybe I was out to lunch when I saw it, but I was bored out of my mind. I thought it was a terrible effort, and had none of the wit that we've come to expect from modern animation.
Give me the 60's TV specials any day.
My 5 and 3 year old loved it !! They loved it so much they want to see it again. I enjoyed it myself. It was fun.
Now where do I buy the red hair girl? The one with no name. My 5 year old wants her. It's her favorite character go figure

I agree. I went in hoping they wouldn't change too much. And came out wishing they had.

Saw it this afternoon with the family. I can't tell you what a pleasure it was to see a movie that was so unashamedly sweet and sincere. It seems like a lot of kids' movies these days have to sometimes play up snark or obnoxiousness, but thankfully there was none of that here. The kids' voices were perfect and I loved how they made it a point to use recordings of the late Bill Melendez for Snoopy and Woodstock.
I grew up with the comic strip and the tv specials and movies. It's clear that a lot of thought and care went into getting the tone right. It was great to see Charlie Brown get a well-earned victory that validated all the BS he puts up with and I don't mind telling you that I got a little teary at the tasteful way they acknowledged Schulz with the last shot before the credits (it's so perfect). The Ice Age short did nothing for me (although the kids enjoyed it). I would happily watch this again, even by myself. ;-)
