I wouldn't have watched it, but my kid watches it, so we watched it with them. Yes, it is good. It really lets the imagination go.
I'm on to the Masterclass series now, having binge-watched first 4 seasons of the show while recovering from foot surgery. It's also great.
I believe it’s my favorite show of ANY genre. I smile from start to finish.
Oh, great. I have Netflix and a week off with plans to watch Netflix! Will check it out.
I like to cook but I don't generally like dessert. However, I probably will now take up baking!
The high production quality and general charm I think could grab anyone.
I don't cook or bake. But, sometimes I watch cooking shows. I used to love the Galloping Gourmet until he got religion. Also, I might cook or bake this week and I need some inspiration.
I would never bake a single thing that they bake, yet I’m completely addicted to the show.
Wow, I watched the first one and I was on the edge of my seat. It's like sports only more interesting. Those judges are ruthless. I'd be terrified of them. The contestants are regular people with an extra dose of obsessive, competitive baking ability. Swiss rolls, 36 identical mini cakes in 3 hours, cherries distributed evenly through the mix, etc. . .ferocious. It is so English. I bet kthnry is 100% right.

Don’t bother with the American version.

Nan -- did it inspire you to bake?
No, it frightened me away. Did it inspire you? Made me think baking is best left to the professionals.

Sorry, @nan, baking for show might be best left to the professionals.
The rest of us can just pitch in and have a go. After all, unless you really, really, really mess it up, remember that you can eat your mistakes! And who knows what you might learn in the process?
Love this show... it's just so....nice! The contestants are nice, the music is nice, the judges are nice (tough and fair too) and the whole production is nice. No yelling, no anger, no dismissiveness... but plenty of heartbreak and frustration that adds to the all around show.
And no pretense. No egos. No false dramas. It makes every other reality TV show look...unreal.

What is it about this show? The editing is genius. The vibe so great. Everyone has so much charisma. The judges are true experts in their fields and so articulate and engaging.
