So exciting!! There's also a terrific show at SOPAC on the 19th - Jerry Douglas and the Earls of Leicester. We are really looking forward to a great night of bluegrass!

Do you have a DJ? New Jersey DJ Services in Maplewood is great and does many community events!

Take a look at the amazing Event Map for Sunday's PlayDay South Orange presented by Rite Aid!

It's finally here!!! Sun is beginning to peak through and it should be a beautiful afternoon. Kids and I will be heading over later after oldest child's soccer game. See everyone there!

That was a lot of fun. I was worried that spreading out the full length of downtown would spread things out too much - but there were plenty of people to go around.

Thank you! We had a blast. And thanks for having an inflatable for the wee ones. My early walker loved it. You should have put that near the Breastfeeding USA tent. It would have been perfect! (That changing table and chair was a godsend!)

I did notice that two boys with skateboards showed up to the skate park and couldn't use it because little kids had turned it into a jungle gym. My husband thought a better use for the space next year would be an obstacle course. That's pretty much what it became!

Thank you for the copious amounts of sidewalk chalk, bouncing balls and hula hoops. We were there for almost five hours today!

I can't even imagine the insane amount of work this took to pull off. It's truly fantastic!

Yes...great event. Thanks and kudos to the organizers!

This was a really fun event!!

I echo Annemarie's suggestion of an obstacle course- how fun!! It seems like there's a lack of non-wristband physical stuff at that end of SO Ave. But please don't take this as a criticism of an awesome day- just ideas for an even better event next year

Thanks to the thousands who came out to play in the street today. The weather was perfect and the energy was incredible from end to end. We appreciate your feedback and are already thinking about what we can to to make next year even better. Thanks to our sponsors (especially Rite Aid and our Play Area Sponsors), our partners (like the Village, SOPD and Parks and Rec) and our tireless volunteers. Initial photos are on our Facebook page at Facebook.com/SOVillageCenter. The South Orange Village Center Alliance is proud to produce an event that is fast becoming an annual favorite!

I so wish we could have made it, it sounds like such a great time! Our block party was today....Is it going to be the same weekend(ish) next year? Gotta plan ahead!

Lots of fun, and I took 3rd in the Sloppy Joe competition. I never did competitive eating before but learned a lot in that 3 minutes. Watch out next year.

Had a great time. Thank you for all the hard work that went into it

It was really wonderful. Congratulations, SOVCA!

We had a blast! This is always such a fun time. Between Play Day and National Night Out, I'm so happy to live here.

LOL?

We had a great time. We especially enjoyed the arts area in spiotta park (good new location). What a great job! Kudos!

Oh, and we enjoyed smoothies at the dancing blender, drinks at the bubble tea place and a fabulous dinner at Ariyoshi.

It was nice to see so many local businesses involved.

Great event. One complaint. No Ferris Wheel!

It was a wonderful event and the weather could not have been more perfect. Proud to have participated. Upwards and onwards, right?
