Ukraine and UN

I watched the UN Security Council meeting last night on C-Span starting at about 9:30 pm.   All of the about a dozen countries, except Russia and China, spoke to following the territorial sovereignty of countries per the UN charter.  China did speak to the need for diplomacy, but not territorial sovereignty.  The Russian ambassador who is the current Security Chair blamed Ukraine for the crisis.  As they were speaking during this meeting, Putin announced that Russia was doing military action.  The tone of the meeting certainly changed at this point.  We are used to ambassadors speaking in a very diplomatic restrained language.  The Ukraine ambassador was visibly angry and almost in tears.  In very undiplomatic language,  the Ukrainian ambassador told the Russian ambassador that the Russian ambassador would go to hell for war crimes.  So, we are now witnessing history.   As the UN General Secretary said, "Give peace a chance."  

Or, as we like to say, Be About Peace.
