So Sanders won in W.Va and Hillary won the Superdelegates

Wow, that's fair!!

Rich people bought that.

This is why I won't vote. Maybe ever again.  The system stinks, and is totally undemocratic.

West Virginia is too close to call on the democrat side.

Why don't you go live somewhere which is truly undemocratic and report back to us.

Apparently, so please tell me how they know how many delegates he gets. it must have been pre-ordained, right? It's supposed to be proportionate.  Someone should ask Debbie Wasserman-Shultz to explain what's going on.

I repeat, never again.

Cannot help you as I have not heard anything about anybody getting delegates?  Just the amount they will get if they win.  What news station. Paper/online are you listening to?

No mainstream news site has a delegate allocation posted as of two minutes ago.

CNN and MSNBC, and googling. Nobody seems to know, but MSNBC keeps reporting Sanders has 13 awarded delegates. If they are awarded proportionately, and they don't even know how many votes Bernie Sanders actually received, and where, how do they know how many delegates he has? I am hoping this is only the tv show's problem, and not the political party, because if it's the party, I'm out. And to think when I came across Debbie Wasserman Schuiltz sunning herself and her family in Sunapee, New Hampshire where she spends most of the year when not pretending to be a Rep from Florida, and told her kids how proud I was of her, I really meant it. I wouldn;t give her the time of day right now. She's not doing a great job.

You must have a different internet than me. I see "Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has won the West Virginia Democratic primary, NBC News projects," but nothing about 13 delegates.

It's on MSNBC. They say "13 delegates awarded."  They just did on Rachel Maddow.

The visual said Sanders won, and 13 of 29 pledged and 5 superdelegates were "awarded' to Sanders. I do NOT get that. There are 37 delegates, whatever that means.

Rich people bought that.

It is  not a winner take all state. You win 13 delegate for winning the overall state. The rest are divied up by county which have not been reported. Which is why you see Clinton has no delegates to Sanders 13

You may want to jnderatand how district (there are 20 for example), PLEO, at-large, etc delegates are awarded in WV before spouting.  Have you any idea how they might know some delegates already, that doesn't involve any silly classist system?

Oh yeah. Real sensible. Absolutely logical. Like gerrymandering.

Rachel says she will have Democratic results coming up real soon, after the break.

There is a system in place.  It was  there before this election.  To say it is unfair makes it sound like grade school.  Fair is what kids get.  The rest of us get the real world.    Both of these candidates know the system and how it works.

The tv version? If so, that would explain why you're seeing it and I'm not - I'm one of those cord cutters, so if it's not on netflix or amazon prime I didn't see it grin (I'm guessing the tv version is available online too, but honestly, I can't stand watching the news on tv - I feel like I'm being actively disinformed whenever I happen to catch it at an airport or other place it's on).

Can't comment on what the "13 delegates" means without having seen it myself, but librarylady's explanation sounds right.

Fairness is not an infantile concept. Stick with the status quo and the system were rationales for all kinds of totalitarian regimes.

Seems reasonable to me.  What is unfair about this?

It sounds infantile, though.  Listen, I'll vote for Sanders, but the rules are what they are.

What is unfair about the West Virginia structure?

Rural counties may not receive proportionate representation.

Notsure why I bother but if you'll notice Trump only has been awarded three delegates in West Virginia even though he's basically running unopposed  Sanders might  end up with all of them or most of them . Theyjust haven't counted the county results yet

Yes, yes, Ms. Librarylady, I get it. Fine, we'll see.

Anyway, Rachel is promising that Steve Kornacki will explain it all to us momentarily, after the break.

Maybe one should wait for an explanation before starting a rabid rant  You know, like get the facts first  Ugh!

springgreen2 said:

You know this for a fact or is this just another of your rants?

Enough with the insults. Kornacki just said the math and the awarding of delegates is "daunting."
