It's a great time to be a Republican , if you like a circus. There are many candidates that appeal to low wattage voters. enjoy.

Watching the Republican clown show and especially Trump run for president makes me think of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire. The movie Idiocracy comes to mind as well.

When revolutions occur, they are not started by the poor, but by the bourgeoisie, the working guy who has lost hope and whose life has become less and less tolerable.

That is Trump's (and Sarah Palin's) constituency, the angry white working joe who blames his increasingly desperate lot in life on Washington politicos and scapegoats like "blacks" and "illegals". My cousin, an unemployed janitor worships Trump and Palin and insists Obama is a Muslim from Kenya. He is a tea partier because he hates taxes but pays none. He hates Obamacare, but without it could not have had a recent hip replacement. These are the kind of people who are fooled by would be despots and tyrants. These are the kind of people who voted for Hitler.

I don't know whether to cheer the current crop of Republican candidates as the best thing to happen to the Democratic party in the 21st century, or to be terrified at the direction this country may be headed.

Yesterday, I saw a utility truck with MG plates, owned by the Secaucus Municipal Utilities Authority. On the bumper was a sticker with the Gadsden flag.... you know, the one with the rattlesnake that was expropriated by the teabaggers...

So here is some government worker, rooting for an organization and ideology that wants no government, no raises for public employees, no benefits for public employees and no pension for government employees.

I'll also share a little secret if you promise not to tell anyone; my most favorite TV show of all is Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on CBS...
