John Sterling has announced retirement

Haven't been a real Yankees fan for years, but I spent many a pleasurable hour listening to Sterling on the radio back during the fat years.

Sorry to hear that.  I really hated it when they split up Kay and Sterling - loved that combo.  I would always turn down the tv and turn up the radio to hear them.

My parents met him twice at an IHOP and he was very nice to them. Even let my Mom try on his World Series ring!

To clarify, Sterling has said there is nothing wrong with his health 

Wonder why the abrupt announcement. At least, it looks abrupt.
