What amazes me is that according to the Patch there are almost 600,000 registered voters in this district, all in.  That's more voters than all of Wyoming, I think.

Incredible.  The vast majority led by the few.

Also to the point, She won with 87% in South Orange, with only 27% turnout.  If we can double our turnout on November we can really help her.  

I wonder if she will be primaried in June. AIPAC will support any Dem opponent but AIPAC supporting a Republican will be money wasted.

I’ll probably start a fall elections thread in the Politics section. I don’t want to antagonize the folks here in the general section.

On a strictly factual basis, three people have filed to run against Mejia in the June primary. And the deadline to file was a few weeks ago.

Other candidates did file for the Democratic primary in June - maybe just in case the GOP's campaign of hate speech, lies, and scare tactics actually resulted in a Hathaway win.

I do not know what sort of reconsideration or "talking to" is going on with respect to them this morning.

Please keep this political discussion nonpolitical. 

But I agree that some of the candidates I listed who have filed did so in the event that Mejia lost. I would not be surprised if the number of candidates decreases very swiftly. 

Three filed in the June Democratic primary.  One is Strickland, who shares most of her positions but polled far worse.  I believe the other two are perinneal low vote office seekers (but I’m not in a position to look it up right now).  November will be a Mejia-Hathaway rematch.

Then again, with a 60K dem registered majority in the district, why would any Republican bother?
