Hillary v. Trump

Possibly I should have added this to an already existing conversation, but I had no idea which one should be the most appropriate.  This election is not Democrat vs Republican.  This is an election in which one candidate has expressed his disdain for Blacks, Latinos, LGBT, disabled, and people of the Jewish and Muslim faith.  Oh, and women.  Have I missed anyone?  I have many quarrels with Hillary Clinton. However, she will be a sane person.

As the mother of a disabled person, I have come to fear for him.  The only person who has ever discriminated against him has been a Republican.  Her husband has the power to overturn Roe.  It seems as if once you have a disabled child, please don't make us see him. In all fairness, a Republican also stood up for him.

If I may reference another thread?  If Trump is elected President there will be no checks and balances. He will nominate judges who conform to the ultra conservative viewpoints.  The Republican congress will confirm said candidates.  You will all note that since Trump 's selection, Congress has not rushed to confirm President Obama's candidate.  That seems to mean that they would be okay with whomever Trump puts forth.

I find this terrifying.  One can differ on some issues and still vote for a person.  It seems to me that Trump has no position on any issue but hatred.  Hatred of all who are not rich white men.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Your opinion is your own - therefore you are not wrong

There is an innate sense of decency in the American People.  We cheer for the good guys and boo the bad guys.   Yes,  once in a while a no good nick can appeal to the body politic.  But it never lasts.

They shoot themselves in the foot and are sent back to from whence they came

Underneath it all,  for all our warts and blemishes we know an extremist of the wrong ilk when we see one.

2016 Will be a Democratic Year

I guess the American Public will be able to say to the   Nasty One........."You're fired"

I am heartened by the growing number of Republicans who are speaking out against Trump. I hope they start supporting and endorsing Clinton in large numbers. It seems possible that they will.
