Dump Biden.

Jaimie has asked that his VP threads be reserved for fantasy so I will confine my discussions of our (Democrats) biggest mistake to this thread.  You know, as a public service.

Let's hope this thread continues for the next 4 years.

It is true, that selection of a VP for Biden shouldn't make a difference.  Voters should already have enough reason to vote for him, even if they're not excited by him.

To be clear, I plan on voting for him if he is still the nominee in November.  I am always up for the moldy ham sandwich that will end up killing the nation that tries to eat it.  I would just like to have the opportunity to vote for someone who has some hope of actually winning.

If elected, I would rate Biden's chances of serving a full 4 year term as rather low.  The man is already in an advanced state of cognitive decay, the chances of any man his age living another 4 years in this time are not great and the Republicans will DEFINITELY impeach him and remove him from office if they regain both houses of Congress, regardless of whether he does anything to deserve it (to be fair, this would be true of any Democratic President).

Do you have someone specific in mind? One of the folks that got beat by Biden in the primaries perhaps? Or maybe someone that wasn't even able to put a primary bid together to begin with? Just curious.

This was his response in the other thread, if I have copied it correctly.

It can't be any of the candidates who ran in the primary.

It probably has to be a Centrist (as opposed to a Progressive or a Conservative).

The replacement cannot be selected before there is a consensus that Biden is unfit to run or serve.  It needs to be clear that these are two separate issue.

The sandwich can’t possibly be as moldy as the metaphor.

I think you have good consensus with yourself that Biden is unfit, so who would you guys pick?

One wonders why this tired, bedraggled metaphor continues to be so relevant to American progressives.  You would think the Democrats would have learned something by now.

In another thread Morganna argued that someone who did not run in the Primary should not be considered for VP because that person did not have enough interest or confidence in their own ability. She is wrong but your position is preposterous.

Behold, the progressive blaming Democrats now for literary tropes.

Sounds like dialogue from Billions.

Sounds like sour grapes.

Sounds like people who need a new party but won't leave the old one because they don't want to see the GOP dominate the country. We are sacrificing our values for you and your conservative democratic ilk every day and all we get for that sacrifice is abuse.

The current partisan structure simply does not work for Progressives but, as of yet, there are not viable alternatives to the lesser of two evils.

it was be awesome if you would ever spell my name correctly to start.  LOL

Back to the topic at hand - please explain where in our history has a primary winner been replaced on the ticket.

The people voted - get over it!

So far this thread is about discussing what the thread should be about.

It's the same spelling that Ms. Nan used.  Mr. Klinker is possessed, I tell you ...

 Work harder.  Thank you.

I'm guessing you would consider Cuomo.

Why are we legitimizing this moronic thread, and its' equally moronic OP?

Or just leave and let you guys be out of power for half a century.  We stick with you because we love our country, not because of any affection for you.

You really can't do it, can you?  Its just impossible for you to post something without resorting to insults.  Do you have a diagnosis for that?

Morganna said:

I don't think we should consider anyone at this point.  Its not about picking someone who you would rather see as the nominee than Biden, its about simply acknowledging the fact that Biden is not up to the task and that we still, thankfully, have options.

jamie said:

Sorry about that.  I truly never realized that I was doing it.  I have had life long issues with spelling, as I have noted previously.

In the context of American History, the history of binding primaries is remarkably short.

So, Jamie, is this sort of thing cool now?  If I head over to the Rosegarden and call mtierney a "moron", is that kosher or is Dennis out of line here and in his last 20 responses to me across the platform?

Just curious.....

I think we're all a bit tired of the anti Biden trolling.  And it is moronic - your first post was pretty insulting to everyone on here.  lol

No. Dennis is right. This is a moronic thread.
