Colorado GOP Chair Receives Death Threats

Sounds about right. And quite a few GOP bigwigs are apparently not going to the convention for fear of Trump troops' craziness. The GOP deserves this and more.

Washington (CNN)A number of high-profile Republicans, fearful of a potential melee in Cleveland this summer, are considering skipping the Republican National Convention and campaigning back home instead.

With the presidential campaign hitting a fever pitch and Donald Trump warning about riots if he's denied the nomination, some House and Senate Republicans tell CNN that it makes more sense to spend time with voters back home rather than be associated with the drama engulfing their party.

People will avoid the GOP convention in fear for their safety.  The fear that some didn't get the message from the Secret Service that open carry and/or all firearms are prohibited.  Coming also on the heels of threats to "expose" the hotel rooms of delegates?  IMO, this situation is the lowest of the low in modern American political history.

That I can believe.

Its also possible some of the "fear" is exaggerated, political posturing by those opposed to Trump.

Which seems to be his own party

The GOP created the crazies. Trump unleashed them. The media has empowered them.

But just how crazy the situation is is shown by the fact that "normal" people now want Ted Cruz to be the nominee.

The lowest, worst and most heinous political act is voter suppression. There is no lower, more evil, anti-patriotic act.

I don't know anything about Jim Risch, but this exchange was pretty funny.

Risch said he wouldn’t support Republican front-runner Donald Trump and framed Cruz as the only candidate he could support. “Obviously, [John] Kasich is so far behind that it’s impossible really for him to get the numbers, so by process of elimination that gets you to Ted Cruz,” Risch told CNN. “At this point, there’s no choice.”

Anchor Wolf Blitzer said Risch is the third senator to endorse Cruz, joining his colleagues Lindsey Graham and Mike Lee.

“Did I just endorse, Wolf?” Risch asked.

“I don’t know. You sort of said I prefer him over the other two,” Blitzer responded, a point that Risch affirmed. “That sounds like an endorsement, doesn’t it?”

“I guess it depends on your definition."
