Christie to Announce in Livingston

Chris Christie will announce his candidacy in his "home town" of Livingston next Tuesday. (He's been living in Mendham, right?) Should be an interesting moment in NJ history. Maybe as neighbors, MOLers could get some photos?

Maybe David Wildstein will go "home" for a visit

They could visit the high school together, for old time's sake.

I urge you to contact the Livingston school district, as the use of a school for a purely political event is inappropriate. Given the way he has treated teachers and his budgetary choices, Christie does not deserve to speak at a public school.

-s.

I was joking about the high school. Is he really going to be there? OMG he is! What chutzpah!

maybe no one else would give him what he wanted and their space -- DAS17 has a very valid point

Christie apparently overlapped Jason Alexander's (a/k/a George Costanza) tenure at Livingston H.S.

Maybe he was a role model for Christie.

Who has a worse reputation in their home state? Christie or Bobby Jindal?

I have to be over that way on Tuesday evening. Hopefully he will be cleared out of town by then. Don't want to run into any dedications of hallowed ground or any other type of Christie worship causing traffic or parking problems. Unless they deside to burn his effigy. I'd be ok with that.

his approval rating is so low, they can probably fit everyone in NJ who still likes him into the Livingston Gym. they could probably fit them into a Dodge Caravan.

My impression, as someone who has only ever lived in the two states, is Christie; Jindal lacks a clear scandal, just has a general disappointment and flawed policies. Each can be accused of selling out the state to launch a national campaign; each failed.

Or a Miata

If I was a mean-spirited person, this is when I would say "Christie can't even fit into a Miata" but I won't.

Anyone know where the announcement/media even will be held, in Livingston ?

Can 't imagine it would be held at any of the schools

Livingston High School. Ask Scott G for details.

Or that even if he could, no one else would be able to fit in there with him.

But I won't go there.

Fat jokes, really? There's so much to criticize other than that.

But that gives me another excuse to post this assessment from another individual who has weight issuess...

Christie opposed the decision, siding with Scalia's side:

Reminding, Maplewood Police Chief Robert Cimino supports and endorses Christie. And Mayor Deluca supports Cimino. The political game here is played for power, not principle.

Oh my god. I have a neighbor that supported Deluca! Should I ask him why he hates gays?

Christie panders to the Right. I did not know that Chief Cimino endorsed Christie for Governor and would like more information. But should the TC have fired Cimino for that? Of course not!

Can someone say "Guilt by Association"?

I have no idea why a prominent supporter of Mr. Lembrich wants to trash our police chief, who I think is doing a pretty good job.

Are we now following in the footsteps of the house unamerican committee chaired by McCarthy? Unreal

It's rather obvious. Scalia, Christie, Cimino and DeLuca have only one thing in common. Dislike of all four can be attributed only to Anti-Italian prejudice.

More evidence.

I was trying to link the thread where Mr. Conehead attacks someone named Scalera.

Anti-Italian? Christie? Oh, you mean his Sicilian Mom? That's a long shot. Look. He's the Governor, from your neck of the woods. Maybe that's the link.

So his mom doesn't count?

If his mom was Jewish he'd be Jewish under Judaic Law. What does Italian Law say?

What was Christie's dad?
