Last week, the complaints were about the SC marriage decision
There's New Jersey and then there's South Jersey...
Come home, all is forgiven
Hudson, Union, Bergen, Essex, Passiac , and a sliver of Morris County counts as NJ. The rest is pretty much Alabama.
A friend of mine even calls Howell Township -"Howellabama" -and he lives right near there in Tinton Falls.

As someone who grew up in Mercer and Middlesex counties I'd request you add those to your list of non Alabama parts of NJ. They sure aren't South Jersey!

Under consideration.
It's only the Pineys in South Jersey that are below the Mason-Dixon Line. There are far more "normal" people in Ocean County (now, counting me!) than the "others".
Cape May is pretty much on the same latitude line as Baltimore, I think I've read.

South Jersey is actually below the Mason Dixon line.
Not exactly. If you extend the east-west portion of the Mason-Dixon line all the way over, it would cross through New Jersey. But the actual M-D line made a right angle turn along the Delaware border.
Many wavers don't even realize it, but the Stars and Bars is a different flag from the one in question.

So I'm in the south Jersey restaurant again this morning. One of the waitresses is complaining about the fuss over the Confederste flag.
Waitress: " Well, I've got mine flying in my front yard."
Customer: (in sympathy) "you've got one?"
Waitress: "yup, and I'm flying it proud."
