Software for Syncing files on 2 PC's

Any suggestions for a way to securely sync files on two PC's? Thank you

2nd Dropbox!

I have all my files on dropbox. Even though I am not syncing 2 PCs, I take great comfort in knowing that if anything happens to my PC, my files will always be there...

Bear in mind that dropbox will do whatever you do. When you delete a file, dropbox thinks you want that file to be gone, so it deletes it from the cloud and also from your other computers sync'ing with dropbox, so it is NOT a backup method. You can delete files accidentally, and you might not notice your mistake for a while.

But assuming I manage my files properly, dropbox IS a viable back up for hardware failure, theft, etc, yes? Also, long ago someone told me that it is possible through dropbox to recover deleted files, but I've never had the need to try and learn how to do it - although maybe it's only available if someone other than the folder "owner" deletes the file.

With the paid level of service, you can revert to old versions of files and deleted files. I'm not sure if the free version offers that. In that case, I guess you could consider it a backup, but you have to discover a problem before the retention period expires, which is the case with all kinds of backups.
