I didn’t catch his name, but one of the journalists working the story was on NPR this morning. Apparently it’s even worse than what’s been reported but too thinly sourced (or something) to print.

Nothing’s shocking anymore though. Polanski drugged and raped a child. No big deal. Woody Allen married his wife’s daughter (but TOTALLY didn’t sleep with her until she was 18 - WINK). Whatever. Casey Affleck doesn’t seem to own pants. And?

I guess it’s good that Weinstein is screwed, but will there be any long term change? I’m not so sure. How could someone have been this brazen for this long unless the larger culture thought the behavior was acceptable?

This is so far beyond that. He set out to destroy his victims personally and mind-fck them so badly that they couldn’t know if the person professing to be willing to help them was really an enemy trying to destroy them. At the very least he made them seem a little nutty... “I’m being spied on!” They were, and worse.

This is a seriously dangerous guy.
