I don't know if you're trolling or not.  The fact that a relatively small portion of this bldg is plywood covered with pink stucco to match the concrete blocks doesn't register on my list of problems with the bldg.  Given the overall approach, those sections don't even stand out in my eyes.

Two comments:

One, regardless of the looks of the exterior of the new physical space, the SO Rescue Squad performs an important service to the community on a volunteer basis, so please support them in closing the funding gap for the new facilities.

Two, as a repeat suggestion - picked up from a contractor - I suggest that the SORS try to allow for plantings near the bldg such that a non destructive, fast growing ivy can be planted at the base of the bldg with goal of covering much of the bldg and add an "established" look to the bldg.

Walking in to work today after the Snow event, I noticed something.

I hope the new SORS building design has a heavy awning over the front door.

Above are rather long and sharp Icicles.  The roof does a 3 direction slope and all that surface area is reduced to.....say 30" of roof line, directly above what looks to be the front door.

Ice dams, snow and water.  Even gutters are going to have a problem with that design.

I meant stucco and cement.  The building is divisive to say the least.  Love the organization and service they provide but some vetting of design may have helped here. oh oh

There were months of vetting, you just didn't bother paying attention (read: complaining) until it was a done deal.

Don't think so my friend.  There was no real vetting here oh oh proof is in the pudding re: facade.
